Boarding Medical Concerns
Minor Concerns

9.The ACW Lodge is happy to be able to offer our clients the ability to board their furry family members within a medical facility. Due to this fact, we put forth great effort to notice even small changes while your pet is with us. Often our staff will find minor irritations or illnesses such as ear and skin infections. We prefer to start treatment right away, but these minor issues COULD wait for your return. If one of these minor conditions is noticed by our staff, we will make an attempt to reach you, if we were unsuccessful and had to leave a message, during check-in process you will be able to let us know how you would like for us to proceed including the following options:

* Give permission for the staff at ACW Lodge to proceed with any diagnostic testing and treatment recommended by their veterinarian. You understand that you will be responsible for your pet's medical bill.

* Do not treat until hearing back from you. (you understand that if the condition worsens and the doctors at ACW Lodge deem treatment necessary, your pet will be treated at your expense, see major illnesses).

Major Concerns

10.There are times pets become ill while boarding and require immediate medical care. In the event that my pet becomes ill and requires immediate medical attention during his/her stay, the staff at ACW Lodge will make every effort to contact me prior to treatment. If contact cannot be made, I understand that necessary steps will be taken to treat my pet, and I agree to be financially responsible for the cost of medical treatment.

Emergencies

11.In the event that my pet exhibited signs of a life-threatening condition while boarding, I authorize the staff at ACW Lodge to initiate diagnostics and treatment that could save my pets life and understand I will be financially responsible for the cost of treatments. I further authorize the staff at ACW Lodge to transfer my pet to an emergency hospital at their discretion and make medical decisions on my behalf.

*In the event that my pet requires medical or surgical treatments, I understand that the change in the level of care and monitoring will require hospitalization fees rather than boarding fees.

Boarding vs. Hospitalization

12.Not every pet is a candidate for boarding. Boarding guests MUST be able to walk, eat and drink without assistance from the staff. ACW Lodge reserves the right to, at any point during the stay, require that a pet is hospitalized when, in our professional opinion, the pet will not thrive in the boarding environment. Owners understand they will be responsible for all fees related to hospitalization.
